The historic city of Southport is located south of Wilmington, in Brunswick County at the mouth of the Cape Fear River. It's picturesque small-town landscape has played as backdrop to many TV and film productions over the years (most famously for several Nicholas Sparks films), and serves as the annual host for the North Carolina Fourth of July Festival.
Residents of Southport enjoy easy access to beautiful Brunswick County beaches, close proximity to the Wilmington metropolitan area (via NC-133 or the Fort Fisher-Southport Ferry), and offers the only access to popular Bald Head Island via the Bald Head Island Ferry.
