Kure Beach Condos, Homes for Sale, and Real Estate
About Kure Beach
Situated at the south end of Pleasure Island, the beachfront village of Kure Beach (map) is one of the most unique spots in the Cape Fear region. The original 900 acres
were purchased in 1885 by Hans Kure and was incorporated in 1946.
The Kure Beach Fishing Pier, first built by L.C. Kure in 1923, is distinguished as being the oldest fishing pier on the Atlantic Coast. Having been completely destroyed by hurricanes and rebuilt again several times, the 711-foot-long pier is one
of the best spots for family fishing in North Carolina.
Kure Beach is also near historic Fort Fisher (site of one of the fiercest battles of the Civil War), the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher, and the Southport/Fort Fisher Ferry (part of the NCDOT Ferry System).
Most of the town's homes, beach houses, and condos are within walking distance of the shops and restaurants making Kure Beach a great place to live or vacation.
