Best Little Place on the Beach to Eat

As the sign above the door says, Old Pier House (101 K Ave) is the "Best Little Place on the Beach to Eat". Located directly across from the Kure Beach Fishing Pier, this tiny restaurant is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat and enjoy the old-time beach town atmosphere of Kure Beach.

Only about 20 feet wide and about 50 feet deep, the dining area is small, cozy, and filled with photos of Kure Beach and the pier from way back when, giving you a glimpse into the rich history of the area.

Featuring a menu of mostly deep-fried seafood (flounder, shrimp, clam strips, and deviled crab), burgers, and sandwiches, this is the place I always hit for lunch when I'm in the area. I love the batter they use on their fried food (love it!).

On top of having great food, it's also the perfect location for both beach goers and fisherman alike. Located just footsteps from the sandy shores and at the very beginning of the pier, it's the easiest place to grab a bite whether you're enjoying the surf or fishing for the big one.
